07/07/2022
After successfully testing a robobus in Helsinki in late 2021, the RIDE2RAIL team is happy to announce its first official demo starts in Athens on 13 July 2022.
Starting on 11 July 2022, the RIDE2RAIL team will make available a new ride-sharing application, called “Driver Companion”, and will launch new RIDE2RAIL functionalities integrated in the “Travel Companion” app (such as Offer Categoriser, Offer Matcher & Ranker, Agreement Ledger, Incentive provider, Crowd Based TSP. For two weeks, participants can download and test the app and new functionalities.
In line with project goals, the overall objective of the Athens demo is to promote ride sharing as an alternative to car use, while travelling from suburban and peri-urban areas. Testing will take place in the entire Attica region, but will focus on rides connecting peri-urban areas to the specific metro stations located at the 20km-long air-rail corridor between Athens Airport – Doukissis Plakentias (metro station & P+R).
The pilot is led by CERTH, and supported by AMETRO.
